Are you looking to guide and mold a fragmented school or
district into a functional, unified community? If so, the
Strategic Planning service offered by Dr. Perry Wiseman is just
the right choice for you. This unique process will embellish
your school or district with a collective intelligence second to
none.
There are
four steps in the strategic planning process:
STEP
1. Initial interview.
Because the Strategic
Planning service is
tailored to meet the
needs of each individual
organization, an initial
interview will be
conducted with the
leader to determine
where the organization
has been and where it’s
headed? Questions will
be asked that help
identify both the inside
and outside forces that
are shaping the
overarching culture and
climate. From this flow
of information, a
multi-faceted course of
action will be jointly
developed for the
gathering of input from
the community as a
whole.
STEP
2: Current realities.
The next consists of
further exploration of
the current realities.
In particular, every
staff member (or a
cross-departmental
sample depending on
size) will complete the
40-question Four Key
Foundations Assessment
survey. This tool
assesses overall
perceptions on topics
like decision-making,
overarching commitments,
mutual purpose, and the
value of teams. General
themes—as well as any
Situations in Need of
Attention (SITNAs)—will
surface from this data.

STEP
3: Small group
interviews.
Following the completion
of the preliminary
interview and the Four
Key Foundations
Assessment survey,
another set of
small-group interviews
will be carried out with
other constituents
across the school or
district. Again, the
rich conversations and
comments from these key
stakeholders are
essential in gathering
the data to make
achievable
recommendations.
STEP
4: Triangulating the
data.
Once all the data has
been compiled (e.g.,
one-on-one and small
group interviews, the
Four Key Foundations
Assessment survey, and
miscellaneous
observations), it will
be triangulated and
evaluated with a
fine-tooth comb. Two
essential documents will
be delivered in a
logical, easy-to-read
format. These
deliverables consist of:
1. A comprehensive
written and visual
report, pointing out
any Situations in
Need of Attention
(SITNAs).
2. A proposed
Foundational Action
Plan containing
specific
recommendations and
processes to help
effectively address
the Situations in
Need of Attention
(SITNAs).
